Oh-Agata shrine

The shrine was constructed about 2,000 years ago. The god of marriage and safe child-birth is said to reside in the “Himenomiya” (princess) of the temple precincts. Its unique style and design has been designated as nationally designated Important Cultural Property. This shrine is also famous for its annual March festival. There is also a "Plum Garden" in the shrine.

Bumper Harvest Festival at Oh-Agata Shrine (Hime-no-miya Shrine), Inuyama
Hime-no-miya Shrine Grand Festival is held at Oh-agata Shrine on the hillside of Mt.Hongu in the southern part of Inuyama city.

The festival is held to pray for a good harvest and good fortune for offspring on the Sunday before March 15th every year. This unique festival is well-known even abroad.
