Kuwazuimo belongs to the department of taro, and is an evergreen perennial herbaceous plant, rhizome is thick and it looks like a taro, which have a green color leaf. A place with shady humidity is liked, the grass height is 0.5 to 1m and it breeds by multiplication of separating the roots. The flower is roundish like a fruit with orange color, and will bloom from May to July. It is named “Kuwazuimo” because it is not edible, although the taro is resembled. It is distributed from Taiwan, the Ryukyu islands and Kyusyu islands.
